Short version: your video and sound go straight from your device to the people in your room, and are never recorded or saved. The only thing kept for any length of time is your nickname, for up to 2 hours.
There is no email and no password. The first time you pick a nickname, your phone makes up a long secret for itself and keeps it. The nickname and that secret are kept on this site's disk for up to 2 hours from the last time you used them, so nobody else can take your name while it is yours. Every time you use the name the 2 hours start again. Two hours of not using it and the name is thrown away.
Press Log out and the name is thrown away straight away. Nothing else about you is kept: no email, no phone number, no account.
In a video room, nothing is switched on when you join. The camera comes on only when you press Turn on my camera, and your browser asks you before either the camera or the mic is used. You can say no and still be in the room, listening and typing.
The picture and sound travel directly between the people in the room. They do not pass through this website's server, and they are never recorded or saved anywhere.
The room's name and the nickname of each person in it. The last 30 chat lines typed in the room, so somebody arriving late does not see a blank screen. If the person who started the room removes somebody, the room keeps a note of that device so it cannot come back through the same link. All of that is thrown away when the room closes.
Reactions (the thumbs up, the laugh and so on) are shown for a few seconds and never kept.
Nothing. There are no accounts, no history, no recordings, and no tracking.
The Lobby tab holds five lobbies: General, Late night, Gym, Music and Games. Each is a public room that anyone can walk into, and the same rules apply to all of them. There are no cameras in them and no sound, only typing.
Everything you type there is seen by everybody who is in that lobby, including people you do not know. Nobody checks a message before other people see it. Do not put your full name, your address, your school or your phone number in it.
The last 30 lines in each lobby are kept so that somebody arriving does not see a blank screen. When the last person leaves that lobby they are thrown away.
Hold a message in a lobby to report the name that wrote it. If 3 different people report the same name inside 10 minutes, that name is put out of every lobby until its 2 hours run out. One report on its own does nothing.
Who reported whom is kept for about 10 minutes so the reports can be counted, then thrown away. It is never shown to anyone. For anything worse, email the address at the bottom of this page.
Adding the site to your phone's home screen puts an icon there and opens the site full screen. It stores nothing extra about you. It is still the same website, not an app from a store.
Some home internet connections will not let two people connect directly. When that happens, the picture and sound are passed through a relay server so the call still works. The relay passes them along and keeps nothing.
